Open Arms Solutions is proud to congratulate Sue Soenksen as our Caregiver of the Month for May 2019! Since joining Open Arms back in October 2018, Sue has been a fantastic addition to the Open Arms team. The passion she has for helping others is endless! Sue was nominated by In-Home Care Coordinator Jasmine Rathod, “Sue is always going above & beyond for her clients, by thinking outside the box and making activities fun. She is compassionate & warmhearted!”
Sue’s positive impact has not only impressed our team at Open Arms but also her client’s family. “I was on the phone with her client’s son a couple weeks ago and he said that Sue was a godsend! He said that Sue has helped his dad so much and he was very appreciative of her,” said Jasmine.
Sue explains that her husband discovered her love for helping people and lead the way for her in this career path. “I’d been a homemaker for many years when my husband one day suggested I go to school for my CNA certificate – and I actually fought him on it, I didn’t think I had the personality for that kind of work. But my husband convinced me that I would be good with clients and he was right!”
When searching for a job after earning her CNA certification, Sue was looking for a company that aligned with her personal values. After seeing Open Arms’ Core Values, Sue knew it was the company for her, “When I saw the Core Values, I thought, people that work like that and enjoy what they do is an organization I want to be a part of.”
